LUMINA POLARIS

✨ Welcome to Kennel Lumina Polaris ✨

A warm welcome to the official website of our kennel! Lumina Polaris is a small-scale, responsible breeder of Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. Our goal is to breed healthy, stable-tempered, capable Wheatens that conform to the breed standard, making wonderful family companions and versatile hobby partners.

Behind our kennel name is a dedicated, dog-loving family. We fell in love with the Wheaten Terrier because of the breed's joyful, vibrant, and versatile nature. The heart and solid foundation of our breeding program relies on a wonderful, vital chain of generations.

Our breeding is guided by a deep respect for the breed and a high sense of responsibility. Above all, our dogs are cherished family members who share our daily lives, travels, and hobbies—whether it is a cozy evening at home, a muddy walk in the forest, or focused training on the trial field.

The daily foundation of our lives and breeding program currently includes:

  • Jouco (Venita's Jogesh): The multi-talented star of our kennel, a certified therapy dog, and a historic Nordic Tracking Champion.
  • Prisca (Celtannia Polar Princess): Jouco’s stunning daughter, who is following in her sire's pawsteps on the tracking fields and has already achieved Tracking Champion titles in two countries.

In our breeding program, we place a special emphasis on the following pillars:

🩺 Health, Vitality, and Longevity

We only use dogs in our breeding program that have undergone comprehensive health screenings. The strong heritage and vitality of our lines are beautifully reflected in our late foundation male, Cassu (Von Jungfruborg Cameron), who lived a healthy life with us until just one month shy of his 15th birthday, passing away in July 2024. We are dedicated to preserving this remarkable longevity in future generations.

🧠 Authentic and Stable Temperament

Our goal is an open, easy-going family companion with a balanced nervous system. The mental stability of our dogs has been proven in official temperament assessments as well as in practical work. For years, Jouco has done invaluable weekly work at a nursing home, bringing immense joy to residents living with memory disorders.

🎯 Working Qualities and Capability

We cherish the original nature of the Wheaten Terrier as a resilient, intelligent, and versatile working dog. Our lines have proven to be at the Nordic top-tier in blood tracking (MEJÄ): Jouco is a Nordic Tracking Champion (NORD VCH) and was named Sweden's Wheaten Tracker of the Year for two consecutive years. These excellent working genes are strongly inherited, as brilliantly proven by his daughter Prisca’s champion titles and trial success.

🐕 Correct Breed Type

We respect the original anatomy of the Wheaten Terrier, characterized by sound, efficient movement and a correct, easy-to-manage coat quality that withstands the challenges of outdoor hobbies in all weather conditions.
